The engine wouldn't rev up after warming up, and it was a 1986 Gemini (PF60, G180).
Apparently it was purchased second-hand.
A 1986 Gemini!!!
Why buy it now???
Even though there's a retro boom, it's not that old, and with all due respect to Isuzu, it is a Gemini... (^-^;
Actually, it was a request from a colleague, but they had called and asked about the symptoms in detail, and they said that when the rotation speed was increased, it seemed to be hunting.
From the symptoms, it seemed that the fuel cut during deceleration was working, so they checked the throttle sensor or unplugged the throttle sensor connector to see if that would improve.
A little later, they called back and said that the throttle sensor was in good condition and that unplugging the connector made no difference.
They had measured the fuel pressure and replaced the ECU, but they couldn't figure out the cause, so they asked me to do it.
When I called, I wondered how they had bought such a car, but when I saw the actual car, I understood.
When they brought the car over, I opened the hood and...
There was a DOHC mark on the tappet cover...
Could this be a ZZ/R?!!
(It's equipped with air conditioning, so it might be a ZZ/T? If anyone knows, please let me know.)
Engine The Sinn is the G180, the successor to the G161 that was installed in the Bellett GT-R.
The body may have been painted, but it's in good condition considering its age.
The mileage is about 75,900 km.
Looking at the inspection sticker, it's huge!!
In fact, it's an old-style inspection sticker.
Looking at the validity period on the back, it says 2005.
In other words, it seems to have been stored in a garage for almost 18 years.
No wonder, the mileage is low and it should be in good condition.
It was a curiosity, so I looked around the car before the inspection. (^-^;
Looking at the driver's seat, I saw the Nardi steering wheel that I wanted when I was young...
I wanted a Nardi wood, but I think it was too expensive for me to buy it.
The audio is a radio cassette player.
Of course, there are no power windows.
It's been a while since I've had a heavy steering wheel.
The fuel filler is on the rear pillar.
So, the troubleshooting will continue in the next issue.
